Application of HS138S non-polarity magnetic resistance magnetic control switch in gas meter

Gas meters are important devices for measuring and recording the amount of gas used in homes or industries. In order to improve the accuracy, safety and intelligence of gas meters, Hall switch technology is widely used in modern gas meters.

The Hall switch plays the role of detecting magnetic fields in the gears of gas meter transmissions. Whenever the gears rotate, when the magnetic block rotates past the Hall switch, the magnetic field in the environment of the Hall switch changes. Due to the Hall effect, the Hall sensor will generate a Hall potential of corresponding magnitude. By measuring the number of pulses of the Hall potential generated by the pulse counter, the number of gear revolutions can be obtained, and the gas flow rate used can be obtained through the relationship between the gear speed and the gas.

HS138S is a highly integrated omnipolar magnetic switch sensor that integrates an AMR magnetic sensor and a high-precision CMOS processing circuit in an ultra-small package.

The CMOS processing circuit provides a precisely controlled BOP/BRP offset voltage compensation circuit and push-pull output, achieving an industrial-grade operating temperature range (operating temperature: -40 to 125°C), while providing a wide voltage operating range (2.0V to 5.5V) and microampere current consumption, suitable for battery-powered applications such as various handheld devices. The omnipolar magnetic switch can greatly simplify installation and use requirements because it does not need to identify the north and south poles of the magnet.

Utilizing the high-speed response characteristics of AMR, this switch combines high response frequency, low power consumption, small size and excellent temperature characteristics, making it the first choice for many low-power, high-performance applications.

HS138S uses two packaging forms: SOT23-3 and TO-92S.
