Induction cooker

Application of HS581 high sensitivity unipolar Hall switch in induction cooker

The working principle of induction cooker is based on the phenomenon of electromagnetic induction. When alternating current passes through the coil, an alternating magnetic field is generated around the coil. If a conductive object (such as an iron pot) is placed in this alternating magnetic field, eddy currents will be generated in the conductor due to induction, which is what we call a "heat source". These currents flow in the metal pot body, interact with the resistance of the pot body, generate heat, and thus heat the food in the pot.

Hall elements can detect the presence of magnetic fields and changes in magnetic field strength. In induction cookers, it is used to detect whether there is a suitable pot placed on the stove surface, and can sense the distance between the bottom of the pot and the stove surface.

When the induction cooker is turned on, the internal control circuit will drive the coil to generate an alternating magnetic field. If there is no pot or an unsuitable pot placed on the stove surface, or the pot is too far away from the stove surface, the Hall element will sense this state and send a signal to the control circuit, so that the induction cooker will not start heating or will automatically stop heating, preventing unnecessary energy waste or possible safety risks.
Once the Hall element detects that a suitable pot is correctly placed on the stovetop, the control circuit will adjust the current size and frequency according to the feedback information provided by it to optimize the generated magnetic field strength, ensure efficient energy conversion, and start the heating process.

As an important appliance in modern kitchens, the induction cooker is becoming more intelligent. Among them, the application of Hall elements brings more intelligent, safe and efficient characteristics to induction cookers.

Recommended model: HS581 high-sensitivity unipolar Hall switch

The HS581 is a unipolar latch Hall effect sensor based on mixed-signal CMOS technology. The device integrates a voltage regulator, a Hall sensor with a dynamic bias compensation system, a Schmitt trigger and an open-drain output driver, all in one package.
This IC uses advanced chopper stabilization technology to provide accurate and stable magnetic switch points. In addition to the applications listed in the "Applications" below, this sensor has many other applications.
Because of the wide operating voltage and wide temperature selection range of the HS581, it is very suitable for use in the automotive, industrial and consumer industries.
This IC is available in a SOT package for surface mount and a TO-92 flat package for direct insertion. Both 3-pin packages are RoHS compliant.
