HS17A is a gear sensor with adaptive function, mainly used for automotive gear sensing and other speed sensors. The device is open-drain output, and has an output short-circuit protection circuit inside.
HS17A contains a 10-bit ADC and logic sampling and holding circuit on the chip. The independent 4-bit ADC ensures stable hysteresis. The circuit has no chopping delay and uses a single Hall version, which eliminates the alignment problem between the device and the gear. The magnetic field bias range can reach -500GS to 4000GS.
When the signal is sampled, the logic circuit determines whether the magnetic field increases or decreases. When the magnetic field reaches the maximum value, begins to decrease, and decreases to a certain value, the output becomes low; on the contrary, when the magnetic field reaches the minimum value, begins to increase, and increases to a certain value, the output becomes high.
